ROB BASE HOSTS THE RE-WIND 90'S PARTY AT LAVO



Tuesday night LAVO took a trip back to the 90’s with Rob Base and LA Gear leading the way. Base hopped on the LAVO catwalk and gave the club goers a lesson in old-school hip hop, singing a line from a 90’s song and then making the crowd sing the next line. Everyone joined in as he sang two of his hits “It Takes Two”, which holds a spot on VH1’s 100 Greatest Songs of Hip Hop, and “Joy & Pain”.

In the crowd enjoying the flashback were couples from the VH1 series Tough Love Couples. “High School Sweethearts” Dustin and Courtney were joined by Dennis and Simone, the “Now or Never” couple and Pawel and Danielle, who are dubbed “the Role Reversals” on the show. The group drank Grey Goose cocktails and took in the 90’s scene.

COURTNEY LOVE HOSTS THE HOLE ALBUM RELEASE PARTY


Saturday night Courtney Love hosted at TAO in celebration of the release of “Nobody’s Daughter,” the new album from Hole. She arrived wearing a Balenciaga dress and headed up to the moat sky box overlooking the entire club. Love, who stuck to drinking Pellegrino, was presented with a cake and just after 1 am she surprised the crowd by taking the stage for an impromptu performance. After asking if anyone remembered MTV Unplugged she sang “Pacific Coast Highway” and “Someone Else’s Bed,” accompanied by Mico, a member of her band who played guitar.
Spotted at TAO watching the performance from a VIP table was Chazz Palminteri.

"TRUE BLOOD" STAR RYAN KWANTEN STOPS BY TAO BEACH AND TAO

"True Blood" star Ryan Kwanten stopped by TAO this past Saturday night with a few friends dining in the restaurant and then hitting the club.

Ryan spent Sunday at TAO Beach, enjoying the grand cabana overlooking the pool with friends. The True Blood star enjoyed Chicken Satay and Mojitos before heading to the ACM’s where he was presenting.

LEANN RIMES & EDDIE CIBRIAN DINE AT LAVO


LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian were spotted dining at LAVO where they enjoyed Don Julio Anejo and Patron Café chilled along with Oysters, Calamari, Margarita Pizza and other specialties from the Italian kitchen before heading up to the nightclub. Upstairs the affectionate couple and friends danced to the sounds of DJ Vice.

90210 STAR JESSICA LOWNDES STOPS BY LAVO SUNDAY NIGHT


Jessica Lowndes, who was in Las Vegas for Saturday night’s party at TAO Beach to celebrate the Express launch of ReRock Denim, was spotted returning to TAO Beach to soak up some rays on Sunday. After enjoying the day in a cabana the 90210 star headed to TAO Asian Bistro for dinner and then visited LAVO Nightclub with friends.

STEPHANIE PRATT OF THE HILLS TURNS 24


The Hills star Stephanie Pratt celebrated her 24th birthday in Vegas this past weekend. The reality star kicked off the celebration with dinner at LAVO on Saturday night. She was joined by Ben Lyons, Jason Kennedy, Ryan Basford and Catt Sadler from E! Entertainment Network. After enjoying a dinner of LAVO favorites and Long Island Iced Tea cocktails and Kamikaze shots, the entire restaurant sang “happy birthday” as Pratt was presented with a cake in the shape of a custom purse by local bakery Gimme Some Sugar. The birthday girl turned the tables on her entertainment journalists party pals, interviewing them for E! on LAVO’s expansive Strip-front terrace. After dinner the headed up to the nightclub to dance the night away to the sounds of DJ Skratchy. Stephanie and pals partied the night away dancing into the AM hours with another table customer at LAVO sending over a bottle of Dom Perignon champagne to Stephanies table for her birthday.

On Sunday the group took over TAO Beach’s new Grand Cabana overlooking the pool and the entire party scene. Clad in a blue bikini Pratt was surprised by yet another cake – this time one in the shape of a beach pail with sand and sunglasses. The crew dined on afternoon snacks from TAO’s kitchen and enjoyed the sun. Stephanie and pals danced to DJ Jason Lema and waved to the crowd as fans were shouting her name.

The celebration wrapped up with dinner at LAVO on Sunday night, where Stephanie and crew dined on Lobster tails and other LAVO Favorites. Stephanie and the crew did one final toast at dinner to celebrate and then headed back up to her suite with her friends for a movie night to close out her bday weekend.

EXPRESS LAUNCHES REROCK AT TAO BEACH


Saturday night Express kicked off the launch of ReRock Denim with a party under the stars at TAO Beach. After enjoying dinner at TAO Asian Bistro, Joy Bryant, Rachel Bilson, Malin Akerman and Jessica Lowndes all walked the red carpet wearing a variety of Express fashions before heading to a luxurious TAO Beach cabana to toast the new line. Bilson wore an Express silk ruffle romper while Bryant rocked her favorite Express motorcycle jacket with an Express strapless ruffled dress. Lowndes looked amazing in a light wash pair of ReRock for Express jeans and Malin Akerman was a shimmering beauty in an Express gold one-shoulder bandage dress. Actress Samaire Armstrong joined the celebration, where party goers had the opportunity to sample specialty cocktails, get painted with temporary tattoos and capture the night in the Express ReRock photo booth, all while dancing to the sounds of DJ Samantha Ronson.

Bilson, Bryant and Lowndes kept the party going in sky box in the nightclub where TAO co-owner Jason Strauss continued his birthday celebration. Also spotted at TAO were Jamie Foxx, Paris and Nicky Hilton and Reggie Bush.

Earlier in the night the Hilton’s enjoyed dinner at LAVO.

JASON STRAUSS BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION


TAO Group partner Jason Strauss, who turned 36 this week, continued the party that started at Avenue in NYC on Thursday with another celebration at LAVO in Vegas on Friday. Famed producer Swizz Beatz was on hand for the party, arriving after seeing girlfriend Alicia Keys in concert. He took over the LAVO turntables for an hour before switching to emcee, grabbing the mic for the rest of the night. Swizz led the crowd in singing a slew of hits he produced, including Jay Z’s On To The Next One. Birthday boy Strauss had one request, New York State of Mind from Jay Z and Alicia Keys, and the crowd went wild when it played. Reggie Bush was spotted with Swizz and the producer made sure to give plenty of shout outs to the Superbowl champ.

NFL Hall of Fame Quarterback Warren Moon dined at LAVO with friends, enjoying the favorite Kobe Meatball and Caesar Salad, along with Don Julio Blanco.

Over at TAO, E! Entertainment’s Jason Kennedy, Ben Lyons, Cat Sadler and Ryan Basford were spotted dining with friends at the Asian bistro before heading up to the nightclub where they enjoyed Ciroc cocktails.

PEREZ HILTON BIRTHDAY TWEETUP!


Gossip blogger Perez Hilton celebrated his 32nd birthday at TAO’s Worship Thursday. After hamming it up on the red carpet, the Queen of all Media dined with friends under the watchful eye of TAO’s famed Buddha. After feasting on favorites from the TAO kitchen, Perez was surprised with a custom cake modeled after his dog Teddy. Headliner Matt Goss stopped by with Robin Antin to help Perez blow out the candles before the group headed up to the Moat skybox in the club to continue the celebration.

Up in the nightclub the party grew, as Holly Madison arrived with Good Charlotte rocker Benji Madden, best friend Laura Croft as well as Peepshow co-star Josh Strickland. Cacee Cobb, who can currently be seen with Jessica Simpson in VH1’s Price of Beauty, arrived with boyfriend, Scrubs star Donald Faison and joined the celebration with a table next to the birthday boy. Everyone mingled and sipped champagne, with some of the crew donning special Vegas Vixen t-shirts Holly brought along. The pink cake made a second appearance as revelers in the packed club joined in to wish Perez a happy birthday.

DITA VON TEESE DINES AT TAO


Tuesday night Dita Von Teese was spotted dining at TAO. The burlesque superstar looked flawless in a purple one shoulder dress as she enjoyed a dinner of TAO favorites including Kobe Steak, Duck and Lobster Wontons in celebration of her Crazy Horse premiere.

JAY-Z RETURNS TO TAO! RECORD BREAKING NIGHT



Saturday night saw records broken at TAO with more than 7000 club goers passing through the doors as Jay Z hosted at the nightclub after his Las Vegas concert.

Jay Z arrived after his concert with wife Beyonce, who looked stunning in a skin tight, gold sequin dress and hair pulled into a tight ponytail. Joined by an large group including tour mate Young Jeezy and NFL pro Larry Johnson, the group took over TAO’s private dining room for a post concert celebratory dinner highlighted by the rapper’s own Ace of Spades Champagne, along with Sushi, Kobe Beef and Seabass.

Following dinner Jay Z and crew arrived in the packed nightclub, taking over several tables on the dance floor as club goers clamored to get a photo or even a glimpse of the superstars. The rapper was in great spirits, singing and dancing to the sounds of DJ Vice, who of course kept Jay Z’s hits in heavy rotation. The group stayed until just after 4 am – stopping on the way out to thank DJ Vice for killing it all night long.

Shawn and Damon Wayans were spotted at the table next to Jay Z and sports stars including NFL players Melvin Fowler, Steven Jackson, Dwight Freeney and Fred Smoot along with Tracy McGrady and Al Harrington from the NBA also filled up tables at TAO. Ndamukong Suh, the projected number one draft pick of the NFL was also spotted entering the club. Rapper Jay Sean hit TAO after dining with friends at LAVO earlier in the evening, and TAO regular David Spade was seen dining at the Asian bistro before his show, sticking to his favorite dish of Kung Pao Chicken.

Actor and comedian Bob Saget dined at LAVO with friends, enjoying Swordfish, NY Strip and Salmon before heading up to LAVO’s nightclub. Also at LAVO, Kaley Cuoco from The Big Bang Theory and Amy Davidson, who played Kaley’s sister on the sitcom 8 Simple Rules – celebrating a friend’s bachelorette party, the group of girls dined on Italian specialties and drank champagne, then continued the party in the nightclub.
